If you're looking for a non-surgical cosmetic treatment that will smooth out the effects of premature ageing, dermal fillers could be the answer.
The stresses and strains of modern life can take their toll on your skin, resulting in imperfections that are likely to show up on your face. Through dermal fillers like Teosyal and Juvederm, we can flatten those unwanted folds and wrinkles, giving you an altogether more relaxed and youthful appearance.
What are dermal fillers?
Dermal Fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body's cells, making it a completely safe treatment with no need for prior allergy testing. They are an excellent treatment option for:
Deep folds
Lip enhancement
Facial lines
Wrinkle correction
Volume augmentation of the lips
What can dermal fillers improve?
Dermal Fillers are used to fill out lines and wrinkles around your mouth, eyes, nose and forehead.
We can give your mouth a fuller and more sensuous form by enhancing the lips to produce a better definition and reduction in lipstick bleed.
Your lips can also be given a greater volume and fuller appearance.
Facial contouring - for example, cheek and chin dimples - can be achieved using dermal fillers to smooth out the hollows and alter the facial contour.
Is it permanent? How long does it last?
The effect is not permanent and will wear off with time. The length of effect will depend upon the area treated with nose-to-mouth lines lasting for between 8-10 months; lip enhancements lasting for 6-8 months. Regular top-ups will mean that less material is needed at subsequent treatments in order to maintain the effect.
How is it done?
The area to be treated is first painlessly anaesthetised using a local anaesthetic.
Once full anaesthesia has been achieved the dermal filler is injected into the wrinkle or fold, just under the skin. This has the effect of immediately filling out the wrinkle and makes for quite dramatic improvement.
How long does the treatment take?
Generally treatment can be carried out in one appointment which takes around 45 mins to 1 hour.
Are there any side effects?
There is usually a little swelling around the treated area for one to two days after treatment. In the case of lip enhancements swelling can occasionally be more significant.
What is the advantage of dermal fillers over surgery?
The results are instant; there is little or no recovery period; very little if any post operative discomfort and of course it is far less expensive than surgery.
